Default Stage - 1?
I just bought a 2010 flhx from a private party it says that the bike has a stage one tune from Harley on it. One of my buddies says it has either a Harley race tune or street tuner with it and make sure I get it with purchase. But the owner says its a download. And my buddy says they don't do the downloads anymore. So far this is all clear as mud to me. Can someone chime in to help me out.

Stage 1 would be aftermarket exhaust system with a high flo air cleaner and a tuner. If it is HD screaming eagle super tuner it would come with a orange box that one could plug into their bike. If he said it was a download ask him how he loaded it onto the ECM (computer brain of the bike).

Last I heard HD still does downloads to the ECM

It is gonna be a Download into the ECM to adjust the parameters to account for open air cleaner and whichever exhaust. Your friend is wrong

If I have to buy the se super tuner is it married to my bike or can I use it on multiple bikes?
