It is unpainted gell coat black. It didn't matter to me since I am repainting my bike this off season anyway. They can paint it factory but I wanted it right away. Ordered it and got it 3 days later. Luckily they had one all ready to ship. They usually make them per order.
The same fairing, stereo, 4 speaker, etc, you have is only $920 shipped with Reckless. At Ocean City they were $860 and they were installing them and running all your wires for free. Quadzilla was also there and wanted $1650 with a cheap *** Jensen system

I didn't need to see this price difference lol. I didn't get the Jensen in my fairing. I got the Infinity on mine. The only reason I got the Mediazilla is because I've seen both and I think the Hoppe is a bit more contoured and not straight across. Just my opinion but I got what I wanted.

As I am sure you know; Quadzilla and Mediazilla are two separate fairing companies. Just stating that another vendor was at OC and what their price was for a fairing with a Jensen system. Was not talking about your fairing. As long as you are happy with your fairing...that's all that matters. Sorry if you took offense.
Like I said back in post #3 I ordered one off them from eBay, ($290), and had another question the other day and phoned them. Now if I go to install a stereo you need metal grommets and shouldn't use the factory rubber RK windshield mounts. They wanted $50 extra for them. Wow, but some people told me the rubber ones will work ok.
Never thought of an antenna after reading more on this a few posts back so that will be another cost and I don't really want an external one. Will definitely stick with one in the fairing.
I'm down Delmarva bike week and they have Reckless Fairing here. They have them complete with marine Infinity stereos, 5" windshields, and Polk marine speakers. I was looking at the one with the two 6x9 speakers. They are $860 installed. I have not shopped around so I'm not sure if thats a good price. What do you think?
If you get one, are you going to two-tone the fairing to match the bike? I have the same colors as you and have considered a Reckless fairing. I have a friend who said he'd paint it for me any way I like as long as I supply the paint...Two-tone (Candy Orange/Beer Bottle) CVO style swish would look awesome!

Seeing the front fender is solid Candy Orange, I was going to do the fairing solid. Paint and clear is not cheap, so I was thinking of having them do it. They charge $425 for both sides. I do not know any painters, so by the time I get the paint and pay someone, I would probably be into it for about the same amount. That way its all painted and assembled. I'm torn on what to do because unless I go on a long trip (which is rare) I like to ride with no windshield. Don't want to buy it and never use it.
I made my post to try to help people with there purchase. The internal antena on the Reckless fairing DOESN'T work. I even replaced it with a HD power antena. Still did not work. Maybe because I am on the eastern shore. Someone is talking about them painting it. I gave them the paint codes and VIN# and it took 4 weeks for them to tell me they could not match the paint. I would double check at the time of your order and hope that the person answering the phone was not told to lie to you as there were with me. I love my Reckless fairing. After working out all the problems with dealing with a company with no customer service and them telling me they use some junk parts. I would have liked to made this purchase without all the headaches. BUYER BE WARE. Withnthat being said sounds great looks good. When you need those part number for the external antena I will give them to you just drop me a line
They were only set up at the convention center. The other places were different vendors; trust me I was checking all of them out. The antenna thing is no big deal to me. I used a $6.00 antenna on my old SG under the fairing and it worked great. Im still kicking it around. I can get one with 6X9, Infinity, painted inside and out for $1300 delivered
Gotcha. I just assumed because of the big canopies with Reckless plastered all over them at Perdue, Winter Park and one other place that it was also the actual company.
Garmlin is correct I spoke with tried to talk to somone from Reckless at Winter Place Park
Strange because I was all over that place, and when I talked to the ones at the convention center, they said that was the only place they were at because I specifically asked them when I was going to get one. I stand corrected.
Interesting thing though....I have been in email contact with them about buying a complete, loaded up, painted fairing. They have been really quick returning my emails (within a few minutes). Then on Wed. I asked it they could confirm that there will not be any issues painting my fairing Candy Orange. All emails from them have stopped, even though I have sent them numerous ones after that. All because I asked them to confirm if they had, and could paint, my fairing Candy Orange. Funny thing is my original email to them outlined the color and options I wanted. They said no problem. But when asked to confirm the color, no more responses.
