Default 2014 air verses juice cooled

So has there been any quantitative testing done on the differences between the juice cooled and air cooled 14's as far as oil and head temps are concerned? Comparison between the two?

I just read through the whole Fuel Moto thread and besides a bunch of "Subscribed" comments and a little info from Jamie on what they are working on, I saw nothing comparing head and oil temps between the air cooled and twin cooled bikes?

Wouldn't it figure a water and air engine, would run cooler than an air only cooled one?

Personally I wouldnt bother buying one of the wetheads. Even with the liquid cooling the engine still gets hot enough to shut off the rear cylinder so whats the point?? More parts, more maintainence, no benefit. I think this is away for HD to crack open the door for future big twins with full liquid cooling without making too sudden a switch. Dont like it one bit.

Personally, I like the thought of water cooling being I have seen and experienced the beneficial difference it made to the dirt biking world from the '70's to present.
Harley, is taking baby steps into water-cooling (forget the V-Rod) with its bread and butter touring bikes probably to appease the traditionalists but to me, they have the space around the cylinders to achieve water cooling them along with the heads and still keep the cool V-Twin look.

Having a cooling system that could easily keep a 160 horse powered V-Twin cool all day has me on the edge of my chair but in reality, not too many riders could handle a 900lb touring bike with that kind of power.
Now if sales were in the tank and every other manufacturer offered a 160 hp BMW equivalent bike on the market, I'm sure we would see that bike from Harley today. Supply equals demand for now.................

If any of the rumors are true about the new Road-Glide being more performance oriented, I may have to trade my '13 in but I doubt it as I average over 40 mpg two up with 130/130 hp/tq and no cooling issues with my 120"er.

I have to say that the liquid cool runs a little cooler than my 09 ultra; however, if you are looking for a significant cool down I say don't buy one because you will be disappointed.

Default Liquid cooling and CARB EPA standards.

I was told by a dealership that the air cooled engines are EPA certified thru 2015. They told me that all the touring bikes and possibly all the models will have the same features by the end of 2015.
