Just picked up my 2013 Ultra Friday after having S&S 551cams and tuned on the Dyno. Only got to ride it for about 4 hours this weekend but WOW! Nice little lope at idle, not shaking the **** out of the bike but you can tell it's not stock. Exhaust note sounds more aggressive and the power is amazing. Pulls much harder then stock. 107 lbs of torque at 3000 rpm. I do a lot or two up riding and I could not be happier with the power. When hot ******* it light to light my girlfriend said if it wasn't for the tour pack she would be sitting in the street...
I have an 09 Ultra with the 96", i was thinking about putting in the 48H. The bike has SE Exhaust, Stage one and Big Air kit. Has anyone had experiance with the 48H?
You will love the 48's, had them in my 07 96". Sweet running, strong pulling.
Debating about putting them in my 103, some say yes , some say no. Gotta do some home wok.

I have beeen doin a lot of reading on the easy start 551 cam seems to be a great choice I'd love to hear more.
The Harley Dealer said the 2014's come with the 255 cams? How are they for an upgrade?
I have a 2013 limited, thinking of putting V&H power headers and monster ovals.
I dont want excessive noise I have my dyna for that!

You may have some bad info here. The specs that have been posted are not the 255 specs. The definitely have improved numbers over the stock and 255 on duration. I haven't seen the lift numbers or been able to find them. They don't have 255 part numbers in the book either. Someone said they were 254E. Don't fit that one either. I will admit they do sound like the 255 when they first start up and performance is much better than the stock 13's. I have seen 204 and 222 installed in them and they improve the performance. The factory stock cams still have to comply with EPA regs.
I have 254's in an 11 RKC (103) and rate them just OK for the Jekyll & Hyde ride you're looking for. Mine has Rinehart True Duals, SE tuner and an aftermarket AC (probably from Harley). The bike is a very new to me and came with the cam so my baseline isn't perfect. Almost always ride two up. Some unevenness at idle which I like, but some low end grunt is missing and you'll notice it at the lowest speeds like around town and starting from stops. Really only a two up issue that less experienced riders may not deal with well. I'm a farm boy and a little diligence with the clutch and throttle and it's all good. One up, ridin it like you stole it, is pure joy. It starts to pull at 2800 and north of 3000 is exhilarating. Harley's description of this cam specifies "lighter bikes like the Dyna's and RK's". Twisting the throttle hard with my wife on the back is the only downside to this cam. When it starts to break into the 3000+ rev range it feels like the clutch or compensator is slipping. Lot's of intake and exhaust noise but not much forward momentum. If your going to ride it hard at touring weight you probably need to be north of 3500 to get the good pull the cam was designed for. It is more than adequate for most two up riding and I kind of like the mild manners at 2-3000 rpm because the ride pampers my wife. In some of my reading there is discussion about adding some compression and it's a change I'm seriously considering.
