Good luck getting that insured. You need to kick that turd to the curb. Part it out on eBay and move on.

Oh man; where to begin. First things first:
I have just been hearing about it being an expensive paperweight from my wife for a few months and it either needs to go or get on the road.

Tell her to STFU you have enough problems without listening to her flap her gums.

Secondly...I see only 2 solutions. Since you already said the guy you bought it from doesn't have any money (really?) your least complicated thing would be to see if the chopper shop will buy it as is for parts. If not, part it out & move on.

But there's 2 things I don't understand--Why did your friend hafta sell the bike because the girl on the back wasn't his GF? And; for gosh sakes--when you buy a vehicle, don't you check the VIN against the title to see if they match?

OK; I've said it before, & I'll say it again. When buying a bike:

Cash for clear title with matching frame VIN. No exceptions. No bikes with payoffs. Also, I would avoid anything that isn't basically stock. You don't know what you're getting.

What happened? Well...

The last post by the OP was on 10-03-2013:

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...l#post11835386

He went from having a dilemma with the title, to deciding to do a complete restoration on the bike. Which is about a week later than his last post in this thread. I'm going to take a guess and say he plans (or planned) on passing his loss on to someone else. Can't imagine him finding resolution to his problem in that short a time.

But, who knows, maybe he did...
