Default 14 SG Voltage Question

so this weekend I started to put more miles on my 14 and it was warm out the past two days when we have been riding. While we were out riding I noticed my volt meter gauge that the voltage has dropped to almost 12v while at a stop light and I have never noticed it before dropping like that and when I give it some throttle it does go back over 14v is this something that I should be worried about?

The bike voltmeter isn't very accurate, so if you are concerned, check using a multi-meter.

Mine does the same thing and it actually died the first day I had it. Brought it home, spent maybe an hour setting up the radio with the bike off. The next day I went to ride and the bike was stone dead. Had to use a big battery charger to charge it back up. I didn't leave anything on at all. Maybe the new stereo system is a big draw, it does have a 20 amp fuse.

Mine reads 10 at idle and 12 at cruise! Of course when I put a multimeter on it its really 12 at idle and 13.8 at cruise. So its telling me I have voltage, but not how much. And if it changes from those parameters, I know that I need to check it out.

These aren't the worlds most accurate gauges ya' know!
