If it were me, theres no way I'd buy a 13 with the new 14 Sand Pearl as an option... That thing is beautiful! Leather King bags all over ebay if you have to have them. That 13 Classic your looking at is probably more expensive than the 14s anyway.
Yes I owe money on a 05, I bought it used and only financed it for a short time. I owe a year on it. Sorry if im not in the ultra class who pays for everything in cash. I have a good paying steady job. So if I want something right away my option is payments.
I did the same thing. Just kicking tires then got interested in a 2013 Road King .if the deal was right Then I spotted the only 2014 Road king on the floor. Started a slow drool which got faster as I did the calculations in my head and then one trade in paid for 2012 V-Rod later I was riding home on my new 2014 Mysterious Red Sunglow Road King. No regrets!

You have to just ignore the a$$hole comments. Luckily those are a minority.
They did discontinue the RKC, at least in 14, so while you can try to take a 14 rk and make it look like a rkc it will be expensive.
Rims, tires, bags ( rk have 17 front and no www for those ). So your looking at least 3k to do that.
So if you want new probably not too much time left before they are gone.
If you decide not to go for it now there will always be someone selling a 13 later.
I am not the one to advise you. If I could I would buy every bike that I see. My wife is about to ban me from going to the dealers. She has heard me say this is the last one far to many times.
They don't make the RKC anymore, if you don't buy it now you may never get a new one. I have a 2011 RKC, the best bike I have ever owned, you can strip it down and cruise around town with the wind in your face and a really great looking bike or put the shield and luggage rack on and tour, all in less than 5 minutes. Just go buy it and post the pictures tomorrow, life is too short to not do what you want. Take it from a guy that's running out of time.
I love my dyna but was drooling over the road king. My 2011 dyna is paid off and I decided to put new handlebars on the dyna and love it.
I'm 56 and have to make paying off my house a priority so I can retire. The dyna is still my dream bike and I have to realize the dreaming will never end....
