HELP!!! Am I missing something here, or a page of directions?!?!?!?!
Got the lights assembled on the bench. Got the switch installed. BUT how, and where do I hook the signals, and aug lights up to[:@]. The direction I have say nothing about that part of the process. I still have conecters and pins with the kit. I'm guessing they go somewhere. But where, and how? Any one done one of these installs? Its these from he Harley site.
The grey wire goes into the last position on the blinker wire plug. if the switch is plugged in right they should work. make sure you get the right crimp tool to put on the wire connector. if not it will be tuff to plug into the harness.
That sounds about right. Do I need to go up into the fairing? Looks like it, how hard is it to remove, or open the iner gage panel enough to unplug, and plug in the new? Thanks!
The outer fairing comes off, there are seven screws (three for the windshield and four on the backside) unplug the headlight and you'll have access to all the wiring. Caution: cover the front fender before you remove the fairing with something just in case.
7 screws to remove the outer faring. very simple. make sure that you cover the fender first. the inner faring cap is simple to remove. just be careful when you re assemble the ignition switch. if you dont get it in the same way it came out it wont start. no need to panic. just take it out and try again. take it slow and you wont have any problems.
Ok, I found it. And, got the pins/plugs installed last night. I stopped by Radio Shake, and got a crimp tool. But, I think they gave me the wrong item. I made due with it. What tool, or tool number is used to install the pins to the wire? I also picked up a service manual lastnight too. Spendy ($$) book, but good info to have. Almost ready to re-install everything
Got most of her back together last night. Then, the ingintion switch thru me for a loop. I didn't get it back in right. And, had to pull it off again. But, ran out of time to continue. Any tips on getting that back in right?
