I hear what you're saying ... everyone's looking for "roll on" power ... On the other hand I love the back roads and keeping it "on the pipe" ... I just seem to connect to the scooter better!

I put together my 107 build last year for about 2K. Ported heads with ACR's, 10.75 compression forged CP pistons, bored seasoned jugs, tw8 cams, smith bros adjustables, HQ lifters, Cometic gaskets, SE50mm throttle body, and VPC clutch upgrades and tts to tune it. All new parts including the heads, no core charges, so I could sell my 103 top end to recoup some costs back to bring the price down even further. I planned the build a year in advance, and shopped for deals and bargains on the classifieds, ebay and cl. Built it in my garage, and tuned it on the streets.

2K spent at a shop would have got me bored jugs (my cores), pistons, cams, lifters, pushrods, gaskets, installed and tuned. It wouldn't have included the SE throttle body, ported heads or clutch upgrades.

I wish somebody would come up with some cast flat top 107 pistons. I'd prefer to run them in a daily rider, but that's not an option, at least not yet. Boring stock jugs out to 98 or 107 is definitely pushing the cylinders to the limits. Getting a good running, long life motor is totally dependent on the skill of the person doing the machine work on the jugs. Fortunately, getting good cores isn't expensive, so you may not be able to rebore in case of a problem, but you can always pick up another set and do it again if you have to.

I have sorta lucked out. I got a new se110 kit for 1k. I will use the saved money to bore the case since I was gonna have it welded trued and balanced anyway.
Now you guys have suggestions on the cams and throttle body size for a 110. I am contemplating having the heads worked but not sure on that yet. I got a 58mm tb with the kit but it's not for cruise. So it's for sale.

You are going to have to figure out your comp ratio before getting cams. the 110s have 92/95 cc heads, your heads are roughly 85cc, bigboyz has a calculator for that, unless you got the se110 heads.

Do some research and speak to some builders, tell them how you ride and what you want out of your build. Big Boyz, Scott at Hillside, Baisley. I went with Dave Mackie with great results. Have fun with it!

Go fast, reliable, inexpensive. Pick any 2, can't have all 3.

My FM107 kit was the best money I spent on my 2010 Ultra to date.

If you haven't looked at their website, do yourself a favor and check them out. Still happy with their work after 2 years and 10,000 miles.

I'm going to watch some of FM 117 builds. If their turning out to be dependable. I think I'm going from my stock 07 RC to the 117. With
FM research and rep I think I'm still better off going that way, than switch to the S&S power plant.

FM also includes the dyno time when they do your build, its not just dumping a canned map in it and calling it good. Dyno time is money well spent, although as said it's included in FM's price to do the 107 upgrade.
