I haven't seen this combination out there yet so I thought I'd let everyone know how mine turns out.
I've got a 2008 roadking that is basically stock except a two into 1 thunderheader.
I'm putting an S&S 107 kit with a Feuling 543 camchest kit, a TTS tuner and an arlen ness stage II air filter.
I stayed with the chain drive since not only have I heard so many horror stories of upgrading to a gear drive, but my local shop was against the gear drive quite adamantly. I got all these parts for around $2,600 and the local shop is going to install and dyno tune it for around $400. So by the time it's all said and done, parts and labor are going to be around $3,000.
I was looking for a build that gave me quite a bit of torque and hp upgrade and remained reliable. I should have the bike back from the shop by early next week. I'll post updates and a dyno sheet once I get everything back.
I had my 107 done back in September for around 1900 bucks for the 107 jugs, 555 cams, woods lifters, adjustable pushrods, and clutch spring.Broke in and tuned by pure powersports in IL. Just wish I would have had the heads done gave me another excuse to take the bike everywhere lol
Give Scott at Hillside a call, he will put together a package for what you want not what everyone else runs. He won't sell you things you don't need. Excellent customer service.
I almost forgot to post the update. The setup ended up being 118 torque and 98 hp. I'm very pleased overall. The bike now has plenty of power out on the highway at 80 mph. My only complaint is the bike now has zero power at low rpms and really does not like being bogged down at lower rpms. But, I suppose with a mid-rpm cam, that's the sacrifice you have to make to get the power at cruising speeds.
