Default Another 2014 SGS Story...

I was finally able to pick up my new 2014 Steet Glide Special after almost a month of delays, but so far it's been worth the wait. It was a couple of weeks late being delivered, then it was delayed further by the clutch recall. And then it had to stay in the shop to have a small oil leak repaired (a minor fix, but it required the dealer to wait on some parts that had to be ordered). But that's all resolved and the bike is great.

I can really tell the difference in the front end compared to my 2011 FLHX. It seems a little more planted going into turns. And while I had ABS before, it's nice to know the linked brakes are available to add a little more control to braking when needed.

I especially like the look of the new wheels and the convenience of the saddlebags. And the infotainment system has been great so far. I was able to do a couple of round trips this weekend guided by the nav system, and it worked great.

I had some parts ready for install before the bike arrived, so I was able to get most of those on right away. I added a black engine guard and some lower fairings, along with a 7" Windsplitter windshield, a black Daymaker headlight, Custom Dynamics LED turn signals/brake lights, and some decent grips. I also installed a C&C solo seat (with some subtle red stitching to compliment the red pinstripes). My next mod will be an exhaust, but I'm not sure which way to go with that yet. I also hope to black out the front end this winter as well.

One other change I made right away was to replace the shocks with Progressive 944s. I had a great experience with those previously and I think they are perfect. (BTW: This means I also have a set of like-new Premium HD shocks with about 10 miles on them for sale; PM if interested).

Anyway, here's a quick cell phone photo for now (so I don't get the "this post is worthless without pictures" posts):

Hey looking nice just curious why did you change out the wind screen was the stock one to low we're you getting to much buffeting on the freeway, I'm 6 feet tall and the stock one is way to short for me does this one solve that, it looks great not to tall.
