Mine has a slight gap but it really doesn't bother me as it is uniform and consistent. If it did bother me I'm sure I could fashion a shim of some nature to go between the pipe and the shield to close up the gap.
Sorry, I don't have a picture of mine but after some fiddling, my shields fit the same as stock with no gaps. It is not only a question of moving them forward and back, you also need to rotate the shields coming off your heads back and forth a bit as well to get them to fit right. Patience and a little time is the key.
I can see by your picture the rear heat shield needs to come forward, the gap created in this example is due to the clamp retainer under the shield is resting on the pipe, the shield needs to come forward and the retainer/clamp will rest between the 2 primaries so the shield sits flush.
Thanks Jamie I will adjust them forward tomorrow. On a side note when will you be doing some cam installs on the 2014 Twin cooled
with some dyno numbers. Wonder what we can expect for those who want more than a stage one upgrade only.

And everyone is OK with gap?
I will not accept it, hoping they have a solution. I've spent to much on my bike to add a part that doesn't fit properly.

I too had a small gap. I solved the problem by adding a small spacer behind the head shield clamp and brought it out further. It lines up pretty good now I'll try to get a pic later.
For the spacer I took another hose clamp and cut a small piece of it off then placed it behind the hose clamp against the pipe.
FYI I was told the manufacturing facility is in Fl. the R&D and headquarters is in Wisconsin.
Same problem with mine. looked at it again this morning and there is no way that the lower clamp bracket will fit between the pipes. The gap between the pipes will not allow the bracket to fit between them, it is not large enough no matter how far forward you move the heat shield.

That part was a little confusing to me also, no way will that work. Loosen your lower clamps on the F&R shields and rotate them. Probably need to loosen upper ones also, took me a while but that's the ticket.

Nice write up Jamie... I too used the hose clamp spacer so I would be able to slide rear cover back as far as possible.. Everything fits up nice and tight and get more coverage to the rear.. I will look at your method as well.

Hose clamp spacer, where would I buy one or did you make it?
