Rent them both and then buy the one your gut tells you to. I owned a RKC and have put more than a few miles on my Dad's SG. I just bought a Road Glide.
I love my RoadKing, When I bought it i was torn just like you are. It took me 2 / 3 weeks to decide... If I had it to do over again. (I've got 5k miles on my RK now) I would buy a SG
I cant say much about the Road King but I can tell you about the STREET GLIDE. It isthe BEST bike I have everevereverowned!!!
[sm=happybounce.gif] I love this bike!!
I own a Street Glide, but my favorite bike is a Road King Classic with beach bars. Every one has different taste and needs thats what makes this wonderful. I love the look of the Street Glide and when I first saw one I said "Thats ME". My brother-in-law has a tricked out RKC, mind you he as dropped several grand in it and it is a head turner. But out of the box, I would go with the SG, if you got PLENTY of after the sale cash to burn go with the Classic.
I have riden a few Road Kings (Classic and Custom) on short stretches (switching bikes). I like the handling of the Custom over the Classic. The wife and I went to the Hawaii State HOG rally last year and rented a Street Glide for 4 days. THAT RIDE IS THE BOMB!!! LOVED THE BIKE! BUT... and this is a BIG but... you MUST change out the seat and add a detachable backrest if you want to wife to ride with you. On the 3rd day, the wife was in tears from the stock seat and 6 hours of riding.
