I just ordered the J.W. Speaker 8700 Evolution 2

http://www.jwspeaker.com/other/the-n...led-headlights

which is the newest 7" LED projector type from the company that makes the Daymaker Projector.... twice the light and much better pattern than the original

Also see that there is a new one from Bagger Nation "something x" or something...isn't available in black yet

installing the new light tonight ill update yall

For what it is worth. A HD Tech I know said the HD Daymaker came out first. Then the Reflector LED was rolled out to add a European compliant LED to the accessory lineup.

I added the Daymaker projector major improvement over stock dual halogen on my 14SGS. As far as the cutoff I lowered the aim about two inches ,that pretty much takes care of the dark area. Although it wasn't as bad as some say. IMO. The Evo two wasn't available when I ordered mine.

It seems like from what I've been reading, the HD reflector seems to get better reviews than the projector styles (either HD or JW Speaker). Mostly, those without the aux lights seem to have found that it provides more light dispersion (particularly in turns).

I think that's the way I'm leaning myself, but it seems like every time I'm about to pull the trigger I read another review that makes me second guess it. I really want the most light I can get from the headlight and it's a good amount of $ to spend so I'd like to get it right the first time...

Did I miss something "factory HID"?

this thing lights up 6 lanes of highway....tree line to tree line....it is impressive....it is a beam of light instead of a flood....but it is a very wide beam.....

It catches my attention and I know they're there. So, I luv them for the additional visibility in the daylight. I do notice the slight dip---I don't have aux lights, but I'm okay because none of my driving is on pitch dark roads where I'm riding for hours and making countles 90 degree turns.

It's good to see someone else who feels the money was worth it. We pay so much money to look good....I know I've spent thousands on stuff that just looks pretty...so, I didn't mind spending that little bit on safety
I agree, I just purchased the HD Daymaker. Money well spent for safety. Most of the working commute is early morning and evening so the stock light was fine, but this last fall I rode to Keywest and back and much of the ride was at night. Some of the guys had LED headlight and Daymakers seemed to light up the whole road. I looked at both HD LED style lights (the cheaper HD version looks much like the Truck light with the reflector plate in the middle of the assembly) and the Daymaker which appears to have four separate beam sources....two vertical left and right and two top and bottom......I went with the 4 source LED Daymaker.

Daymaker PN 67700243 $524
Daymaker Reflector 67700173 $424

For $100 extra I decided to get the Daymaker

Went with the Daymaker as well for my Street Glide Special.
Now just waiting for the weather to warm up enough to use the lights.

IMHO the HD Daymaker Reflector has a great beam. Much more visable to the side than the HD DM Projector. Pricey yes. Worth it? To me yes. Full width and down the road. No problem in turns on a single light SG. Here are 2 pics on a really bright summer day. Low and High:
