Do we 14 SG owners need the anti-flicker harness?

Sorry fellas, been off the air for a few weeks while taking care of my ill 95 year old mom. Love her to death but a 100% Italian mom not feeling well can be a mentally exhausting process!!

I live in a rural area and there is no ambient lighting from streetlights, homes, two lane roads, etc. The only light we get is from the bike (or whatever we are driving) and a full moon.

Night riding:
Anyway, I have had a lot of opportunities to ride with the Reflector at night. I got the headlight and driving/passing lights. The light emitted from the Reflector headlight and driving/passing lights is whiter, the beam is brighter and wider than the Projector light. I like the low beam of the Reflector much better than the low beam of the Projector.

The high beam of the Reflector seems to be pretty bright but the beam pattern is more of a vertical then the horizontal pattern of the Projector. Both high beams seem to work equally as well yet with different beam patterns.

During 45* to 90* turning out on the dark roads the Reflector allows for more of a halo of light vs the Projector which is more like focused beam. The Reflector allows for tighter turning with less dark spots off to the sides. I'd still like a little more 'halo' effect but I like the Reflector light way better then the Projector lights.

Daylight riding:
I always ride during the daylight hours with the headlight on high beam and the driving/passing lights on. IMO, the daytime riding with the Reflector is hands down better than the Projector. IMO, this is a result of the whiter light and the broader pattern of the low beam. My riding buddy always comments about how white and bright the Reflector is compared to the Projector.

All that said, IMO either Projector or the Reflector are a HUGE improvement over the stock halogen headlights. After having ridden with both I had the opportunity to ride my son's bike with a Xenon halogen a couple nights ago. I felt like it had candles in the housing instead of headlights!!

So the Reflector sounds like the better buy, I just wish the damn thing came in a smoked lenses version.. I really like the smoke projectors' looks. Lol

The projector isn't smoked....

But it does come in both chrome and black, the black looks dark, but the lens is clear.

I have written several reponses to the Daymaker as compared to the TL. In my opinion the TL is much better and less money to boot.

Yes I have ridden with both lights -- not just speculation --

I have a 2000 EG with the TL -- I had a 2009 Ultra CVO with the TL and they are/were great at night. Sold teh 09 and bought a 14 with the Daymaker -- it is dark compared to the TL -- the Daymaker does not light up the corners very well --

When I can, I will be changing the 14 to a TL -- should have made the trade when I sold my 09.

Are you comparing the Daymaker projector? or the Daymaker Reflector to the TL7?

JW Speaker EVOLUTION 2 (3rd generation is out)

Twice as bright and twice the beam pattern size of the JW Speaker EVOLUTION (2nd generation) also named HD Daymaker projector. Will be curious to see this NEW RELEASE model projector put up against the old TL reflector. Especially since they were pretty close in terms of pros/cons...

There's a YouTube video with both JW SPEAKER EVO and EVO 2 But I don't know how to link that at the moment
