I was in the dealer yesterday picking up a service manual and on my way out I see for the 1st time a CVO Limited wow what a beautiful sled then I see the price tag $39,999 like holy crap that's 2 Street Glides!
Yup, I hear you. It's not my thing - even if I had the money to burn, but I'm not going to dog those that get one. Peaches to them.
...the most overpriced thing on 2 wheels...I HAVE the money, but would never drop that kind of coin on a bike that everyone will walk right by not even noticing in 2 years time...go to any rally...CVO bikes draw no attention,(and that's what people want right?), ..too much glitter..too high a price...if you have to have one, buy 5 years old for half price...good luck
The one thing about used bikes is that I wouldn't want to buy one that looked good but was ridden by somebody that rides like me. And I wouldn't trade my SGS for anything else. Best purchase i've ever made.
CVO's are top of the line bikes, for top of the line people.
They are not for the frugal tightwads.
Not sure I really believe what I just typed, but it puts CVO into perspective.
They are for people that want a high end factory custom, where lots of thought goes into every piece. For those that want to customize their bikes for their own specific taste, it is not for them.
Well, 10 years ago, if someone would have told me what I was going to pay for my '13 Deluxe, I would have told them "you are nuts". Oh well, it's all relative.
I quit buying new bikes, took me a long time to figure out I can let another guy take the big money hit. Then I don't feel guilty making them what I want. And if I get bored onto another one no giant loss.
Crazy hey ! I bought my bike new, first new vehicle I bought since 1978 F-150 4X4. So after 42 years I retired and said what to hell ! I hear you though go look at NADA or KBB and talk about sticker shock on my now used 2013. When I was shopping some of the dealers in WI and one in Duluth were giving away their rental bikes and clean used bikes and I could have saved $3K+ on a 2012 FLHX with ABS, Cruise, Sec and some nice mods, 5K miles, so that's the way I'll go on the next bike but I'm going to ride this one for a while and enjoy it ! It's all mine and the credit union's !

....that's one way to look at it....another way would be to say they are for lazy guys, who have no ability with a wrench, or creativity, to create their own look..."top of the line people"?...don't think so..
