No worries, I was just sayin. One big misconception I've noticed is the notion that CVO bikes don't get modded. They do, and for the same reasons that the regular production bikes do.

No offense taken, either. Purchasing any Harley is a personal decision, and none of them are cheap. What I do know now, is that the gap between regular and CVO is getting smaller in terms of what you get. Beyond paint and gadgets, the extra 7 cubes are pretty pricey.

Right. If people are honest with the numbers, I bet there are quite a few $30k+ Street Glides rolling around with just the normal mods.

Good thing you didn't mention oil or you'd be banned!

My local dealer had/has a Road Glide that they put a 120R in and if I remember right is also a CVO model. Sticker on that baby is in the 50's.

I just bought a 11 RK with 5k miles on it for 13900.
Now days I much appreciate watching my 401k grow over dumping stupid money on a motorcycle or a car for that matter.

Will put a few grand in to performance and comfort/convenience items and have a nicely performing "value" scooter.

Agree with those of you that buy as-new used vehicles, it makes so much good sense.

I bought my sig bike in December, `13. It has a new engine (previous owner hot rodded it and dealer had to rebuild: I saw the paperwork). `Traded my Dyna for it and I loved that bike. I don`t regret making that decision, and even bought a FF helmet because I thought a windshield would destroy the good looks of the bike. Now, after riding in cold weather, I have decided that I may have to get a windshield after all. The wind nearly tears me off the bike. I`m thinking of something maybe quarter sized and adjustable, not the straight up ugly one, something that looks good and works for me. And, while the previous owner didn`t take care of the engine, he paid special attention the outside looks of the bike, and it has new Metzlers on it. So, to me the bike is practically brand new without the CVO price tag.

...yup...you make a real good point...I'm guilty of being in that ball park with my "ancient" E-Glide...it was $21,500 OTD at Boston HD in 2005..then a stage one with PC111, and a dyno,($2K more)...then detacheable everything, chrome everywhere,...seat, windshield.....yup...pretty depressing...gee..thanks....

Default Very happy I bought new bike

I just stopped by the dealer where I purchased my new 14 UC, and I find out my trade in 01 RKC had not only a bad seal on the shift shaft, the swing arm was broken in front of the shock...left I think he said. It obviously hadn't completely come apart, but was apparently very close to that point. That could have been a really bad accident if I had put more than the few miles on it I did...<200.

It is really sad when a dealer would put a bike out in this condition just to make a buck. They claim technicians inspect them all...yeah right, not at that dealership. At least I have a brand new bike with no worries about that kind of stuff...just lots of payments and goodies to put on it.

Buy a Limited, then go thru the catalog and turn it into a CVO (including the 110 upgrade) and you will see the price is right.
