Heated grips not working.... ideas?

Heated grips not working.... ideas?

The heated grips on my 11 Limited have stopped working. Just before they quit, they seemed to work intermittently. I'm out of warranty.

Anyone had this problem or have any ideas?

Mine is a 2013 limited but just took mine in for the same problem. Turned out to be a wire that was pinched from the factory in the fairing. Took them an hour to find problem and fix. Just did it today.

Seems like these are a notoriously bad product. Mine quit too and from what I've read its always the left grip that goes bad. I think its around $200 just for the left grip.

Heated grips have been on snowmobiles for years with almost no problems. This is not rocket surgery. Don't know why they can't make them last.

There is a connector , I cannot remember if it left or right grip that melts on the pin and breaks circuit, I found it with a voltmeter. You have to remove the outer faring to get to it, it's kinda in the middle by the radio. the wires for the heated grips are really small compared to the rest of the wiring.

Put the HD heated grips on my 99 when they came out. Then put a set on my 08. 2 sets, total of 60,000 miles and no issues. But, a friend had an issue and had replaced under warranty.
