need help!!!
im bangin my head against this damn keyboard trying to get all the info i can...ive read every post and still lost. is anyone out there running a 37g cam in a stock 88 with true duals/thunderheader set up? what ive read the 26g is more for baggers but my local wrench swears by the 37g and says the 26g is a dog.
My dealer talked me into the Andrews 37 also.......boy was I dissapointed. The Andrews 26 is a better choice. The 37 likes to ping and to get rid of ping you end up taking timing out defeatingmost gain. The 37 is made for light bikes and is not a good choice in a bagger.
Ideally hold off on any cam until you decide for sure what the big picture is going to be. Almost everyone ends up going with Big Bore and other mods. Make your choice on parts that will compliment future mods. You will be doing future mods....it's the "Harley Disease"

Jeep is right, on all accounts.
1) The 37 is a decent cam, but not necessarily for a Bagger. (hint...ping, ping, ping)
2) The 26 is a GREAT bolt-in cam for a Bagger - either 88 or 95".
3) Think "Big Picture". How do you ride & where will you benefit from additional power? Most Baggers need grunt down low and rarely need to twist it up higher than 4500RPM anyway.
If you're not planning on "a lot of work" (heads, increased compression, pipe, etc.) then a 26 is much better fit. If you're considering doing a little more, then you need to step back and decide what you REALLY want. The most common mistake we make doing this stuff is not using components that "compliment one another". THere are tons of great parts & pieces, but they don;t all work well together.
Do some homework before you open your wallet.
I've personally used many cams in my own TC bikes (S/E203, Andrews 26, 37, 55, HQ-0039) and a few others in builds for friends including HQ-0034, HQ-575, and S&S 510.
"From my experience", I would use any of them again - EXCEPT: S/E203, Andrews 37, and S&S 510.
Did I mention.... do your homework?

I have a 97 ultra.Here is what I have had done.
Heads,bored,air cleaner,duals(vance&hines headers,screamin eagle
slip ons),computer has been flashed. My wrench advised useing
the 310 cam made by crane cams. Love it, does just what he said
it would do. WE ride two up most of the time, we pull a 22cu. ft
trailer and it does a hell of a job.

If you had a Dyna and you were getting some head work, they might be "ok", but in a bagger they are not ideal. Read what Andrews says about them on their website. As I recall.... it's something about "lighter bikes".
However, if you trust your builder and you really want them.... go for it & let us know how they work out. THey are better than stock and you will see an improvement. Is it the best option? Not in my opinion, but I am not the one that needs to be happy....
