Default Riders back rest ????

I got a back rest off E-bay, installediton my 03 ultra ,rodewith itforthe first time today Iam setting almost onthe tank with the bracket set as far back aspossiable any ideas ???????? thanx Joel

They do push you forward....but you do get used to it. They are comfortable for trips.

I heard another member on this forum say he took the cover and padding off then heated the long posts that slide into the seat part, then bent them back a little. I might try this on mine too cause I get tired of sitting on the end of the gas tank.

speaking from experience....i took mine to the bench vise with a small sledgehammer. just bend the lower part of the legs just above where they insert into the mount. pull the leather up as far as you can and start banging. it's pretty tough steel but trust me, they will bend. now mine is perfect. it took a couple of times before i got it just right. pull the fabric back down and you can't tell. good luck.

Try turning the mount around on the fender. In others words put it on backwards.
That's what I did and it put the backrest about right for me.

If you have it turned around without having the front connected to the frame just above the battery, I could see it buckling up the fender easily if you lean back good. Not to mention putting a nasty dent or scratch in the fender.
