Been doing a bit of reading and am getting confused. Is anyone running the SuperTrap slipon mufflers on an 07, and if so, what is your opinion. Hot Bike Bagger magazine rates them pretty high, but quiet. What do you think?
Put Supertrapp Se's slip-ons on my FLHX a couple of weeks ago and I am very pleased. It definitely gave my scoot some added power. I also did a stage I with new air cleaner and SERT.
The bike has picked up some power, runs less hot and has a nice deep mellow sound to it. Maybe could be a little louder, but that was only a secondary priority for me. Put the fish-tail end caps on and it gives the bike a nice old-school look.
Just curious as to how one dyno's one of those that has baffles bolted into the end - the plates keep the tech from inserting the O2 sensor. I am speaking of the 2 into 1 specifically.
On the 2/1 with the closed end cap you need 2 of them, 1 with a hole drilled out just big enough for the ARF tube to go into it. Tune it and replace it with the closed cap.

if your tuner does very many he will all ready have end cap set up to use if not if you will call supertrapp and tell them what you need it for they might send you one free of charge ( they did for me ) to drill a hole in for the sniffer I believe the new supermegs have the o2 bungs which should make it even easier
I installed the Supertrapp performance slipons on my 07 along with a K&n aircleaner and pciii. The bike sounds good, big improvement but not crazy loud. I bought this combination from fuelmotto after talking to Jamie. I'm real happy with the results.
I talked to Supertrapp about the SE slip ons because they look like what I want, too. Deep, full tone but without the bark and loudness. The guy there said that if you just install them on a stock bike that is running well, you shouldn't even need a tune. Anybody done that? I think dyno tuning is overkill, not to mention a waste of money, unless you've done a lot of mods or you're getting ready to race.
I run the real Supertrapp slip on's on my 2007 FLHX(& V&H true dual headers). They are the 4inch disc system with slash cut ends.Easy to tune, disc's & tq/power where you ride. They are made of chromed stainless, real nice.Regards,Tom PS:I think the new SE supertrapp quiet mufflers are really from the Kerker division of Supertrapp & they don't have the traditional disc set up.
