And I think it is a heck of a lot of money for a chrome tube with some holes in it.

But I'm not too crazy about the idea of shimming with washers, there would be no support for the bottom of the Tour Pack, that could lead to cracks.

Try using "Unistrut" you can get it in electrical supply houses orGrainger.

U shaped bracket.--hey I have one of those......never used ..could let you have it for the cost of the postage only.. to the States ..if no other solution seems agreeable..I assume it would be less than $45...

Along with the 'U' tube you will need the concave spacers that nest it to the mounting point of the rack, keeps from crushing the tubing. Check at ebay for them as well.
