Default King Tour Pak problems, Help!

I bought a good used king tour Pak to have painted to match my road glide, I just ordered a quick detach mount for it that "fits all tour paks" but it doesn't fit...

My tour Pak has two rails running down the middle which won't allow the mount to sit flush. I attached a couple picks for reference.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

a couple of spacers between the mount and the tourpak will turn lemons into lemonade...or something like that.

........ shim it equally @ the mount point ?
...... maybe find one of the 'U shaped' mounting tubes that were used with the pre'09 detachable kits if one did not come with your 'fits all' set up.

One of those pre 09, U shaped mounting tunes might work perfect, just need to get my hands on one...

Default Shim It!

Get a box of flat washers and shim it! That's how Harley makes the tourpak passenger arm rest kit work.

Is that an 08 and earlier pak with the 08 and later QD mount? Just wondering cause this is one of my projects this winter too.

I have this on my ebay watch list.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/181265928431...84.m1423.l2661

And I think it is a heck of a lot of money for a chrome tube with some holes in it.

But I'm not too crazy about the idea of shimming with washers, there would be no support for the bottom of the Tour Pack, that could lead to cracks.
