Material to use for muffler packing?

I used Bristol Core when I re-packed my Fatcat. Really good stuff.

Yep....it's quality stuff made in Germany called Silent Sport Premium.. I got mine directly from Keith at FM...

I bought a roll of stainless steel wool from amazon. It was about 6" wide and easy to wrap on the baffle of my Rush mufflers. Seems fine. I think the word "packing" is important, if the entire area is not packed the material pounds around and destroys itself.

Could you explain. I find this hard to believe if the engine is timed correctly and running properly. On the intake? Yes, but not the exhaust.....

My Rush used fiberglass.
