So, I put about 200 miles on my SG today and noticed that my back and neck were a lil uncomfortable.....this was the first combination ride with 12 MBB and the C&C solo seat. The C&C puts me back an inch and down an inch, which felt great with the stock bars but I wonder if its causing me to reach too much with the MBB. I really felt that I was stretching!
So, I'm thinking....maybe throw stock seat & backrest back on and do a test ride of a considerable distance. If that feels better....then maybe I should keep the stock seat on OR...rotate the bars back towards me about an inch (the amount the C&C pushes me back) if I want to continue using that seat.
What do you guys think? I know something in my current setup is not good because my lower back and area between shoulder blades never hurts.
stock bar with stock seat were great
stock bar with C&C seat were great
MBB with C&C doesn't feel so comfy
I never did MBB with stock seat
Maybe I should shut up and ride---this is a new setup that may take a minute to get used to?
I rotated mine as far forward as they could go without actually hitting the fairing, but I'm a large guy. My best advice is try different combos to get the sweet spot you're looking for. Got all winter to test it out before spring.
I have the 10" MBB & C&C Solo and don't have any complaints, however, I'm 6'5" with very long arms so you may have to make adjustments. Like Rob, I have mine as far forward as they will go.
I installed mine as far forward as possible, cause that's what most everyone else does. I also noticed that on longer rides I was getting some back and neck pain... more so the neck. I moved the bars back a touch and the "discomfort" is gone. I think I was reaching too far....
The idea of changing seat and/or bars should be to be more comfortable, not less. I'd say you messed up? Try rotating the the bars and controls to a more comfortable position but ya may need a different combo?
'10RK and had the same problem. Removed the stock risers and installed a 2 up and 2 back riser and used a Street Slammer cover.
Initially the stock seat slid me forward into the tank so my friend and I removed the foam to where the drivers backrest mounted and recovered the seat. Now I have the leg room I wanted and I sit into the seat more with the bars at the perfect ( for me ) height.

......Are you kidding me? Why wouldn't you try the stock seat first? It only takes a minute to change them.

I live in Fayetteville, we can link up and you can sit on mine if you want. My 10" MBB are pulled back and I have the rider back rest on, it would give you an idea of how the bars and back rest would feel on your bike?
I have 10"MBB and C and C solo seat, Im 6'1"
I have found changing the rotation even 1/2 inch makes a big difference.
I have mine pretty far forward, but not all the way and it is really comfortable.
You need to try different adjustments, it doesnt take much to change the whole feel of the set up.
