I consider the line between rich and not rich (as far as RUBs go) as whether or not you had to sacrifice more than money for your bike.
It took nearly 5 years of saving, doing without, and planning to get to the day where I could buy my bike. Donald Trump could go to a dealer and buy a SE Ultra and not bat an eye.
If you dont have to sacrifice to acheive your dreams, how the hell can you truly appreciate it?
I am rich as I have my dream bike, a beautiful woman who loves me, a loving family, and the opportunity to take my life in any direction I wish. Wow, I am a lucky man. thank you god...
The guy living in a box under the bridge thinks I'm rich, I think the guy living in a mansion a mile from me is rich, he thinks Donald Trump is rich.........who knows
Gary D.
Exactly my meaning, its meaning is dependant mostly on the person who use's it. I mean if you base rich on money, then we all are poor compared to Bill Gates and all rich compared to every homeless person you see.
Oh and 10K is a lot of money to a kid in africa who could eat for a month if we sent them 15.00 like on those tv ads we all have seen. Only a RUB would not think 10K for a toy was not RUB worthy. LOL
Who cares...... The point is to ride right? Who cares if you are a 'RUB'? I've met a lot of great guys on the road that would gladly give me the shirt of their back if I needed it and might be considered RUBs...
I look at being "rich" differently. I have an incredibly beautiful wife, 2 great step kids, a very nice houseand a lot of toys! Not too badly in debt, either (except for my house and new Harley )
I have a very good paying job, but I am not a RUB.
If youre waiting on a 20K toy to come in , sorry but you are or soon will be a Certified RUB.
I guess it is based on ones definition of RUB. I consider a RUB someone with 2 or 3 new HD's and puts a few hundred miles on a year, when the weather is nice.
I have one "toy", have heated gear & ride year round, lucky to have a good job, and don't consider myself a RUB.
Rich? A 3" roll of $100 bills that is replinished at 1-1/2" and an unlimited credit card that's billed (along with all the other bills)to a bonded CPA and paid offmonthly.
