Thanks to all for the replies and I am bout ready for the shield indeed. I bought another in the interim and will be taking the stocker off within the next week once I wrap a few things up here. Shoot me an email and we can plan the swap out.

Thanks for the reminder! You were on my list for the next week lol.

ORIGINAL: Mr Wonderful

It's a molded rubber peice that goes over the edge of your windshield. It has a recurve section towards the front that catches the airflow and directs it higher over the rider than the windshield alone allows. They are functional and butt-ugly.....kinda expensive per foot. too. You can take it off and put it back on easily.
Try www.saeng.com. They might call theirs something else like Stealth Edging............
Mr Wonderful is correct about the Lip except that it's made of clear plastic. Doesn't look too bad on the RG, but looks like crap on a standard cruiser windshield. See for yourself http://www.laminarlip.com/index.php

I also tried the Saeng product a few years back. Now you're talking Butt Ugly and it didn't seem do do any good.

Jim whats a laminer lip and were can I see one, I have a clearveiw med but havent installed it yet
Install the shield first and see howyou like it. I got the short (14.5") and it turned out to be exactly the same size as the original, but the sight line is maybe an inch lower. It must slant down a little more. I can see really well over the top, but needed something to knock off the buffeting at the top of my helmet, thus the Laminar Lip. Might not have needed the lip if I had gotten the Medium size.
