Default 2011 Electra Glide Saddlebag Mounting Brackets

My bike is being worked on and I am working on my wish list for Christmas. I was considering the Brukus Saddlebag Secure Kit and I can't remember how the front mounting bracket looks/works on my 2011 Electra Glide (never needed to pay attention before). This product looks like it is good, but if someone could simply take a speed wrench and remove the mounting bracket then I am not sure that this is worth the trouble.

Does anyone have pictures of this model showing how the bracket mounts to the frame and perhaps some insight? My photographic memory is blank

Thanks in advance.

the front bracket is held to the bike with a 1/4" bolt, which can be turned out with a wrench with the bag in place...replace that with a button head bolt. ( shown on the right side of the pic) ( ...the rear bag mount is more solidly mounted)

for a few bucks you can get a speednut and wing screw at home depot. ( search forum for " Crown Bolt " I have posted the item numbers before)
some use an allen or torx for the screw, but i like the convenience of the wing screw.

Secure and you save some dough.( "security" bits are available at harbor freight, everybody has them- the screws can also be turned out with a screwdriver jammed against the pin)

The more common concern is the stock pins vibrating out on a rough road, even tying a shoelace between the rings to keep them tensioned will work

The rear is not removable so even if they take off teh front bracket there is no way to get the rear off unless they break into the bag and undo the torx plus bolt.

Most people looking to steal bags want quick and easy. If they have to use a wrench they will move on. I had my bags stolen recently and the Brukus are worth the price. The hassle of dealing with insurance and waiting for new bags to arrive sucks. The bottom line is if someone really want something they can get it no matter what you do. Breaking into a locked saddlebag is very easy.

This kit will slow them down enough that they will move on to a bike that does not have it.

As shown below, the Burkus kit replaces the stock hardware, there is no mounting bracket. If you park overnight in motels or other public places, it's definitely worth the price.
