Best and cheapest not always the same. I recommend Magnum cables.
I don't recommend magnum shielding, any rip or tear in the plastic coating lets in water. Then comes the rust! Shrink wrapping over it multiple times looks like ****. I wanted to change them out in 2 years. I won't put them on another bike, if you search good I am not the only one that complained about them. I had to leave my bike in the sun to dry out the cable after any water contact
i ended up with Barnett cables thru J&P cycles. for all cables, throttle & idle &clutch at 6 over. For brake at 6 over including the lower lines went goodrich with lifetime warrenty. Also picked up Namz wire extensions 8 inch. Total for all during the J&P sale which ends 1/1 was $338 and free shipping.
I just put 12" LA Choppers on Ultra, only had to change the clutch cable, and took the Magnum route. At my next servicing I will be replacing my brake lines with a Magnum setup to match.
If you love your bike like I do, "cheap" is not the answer, but "thrifty" is. Shop around most definitely as I got my clutch cable on EBay $10 cheaper with free shipping than the manufacturers website. Eastern Performance is also a good choice, but compare their EBay store and the online store before you buy simply because I got my bags from their EBay store $100 cheaper (and shipped) compared to the online store.
I put 12" fat apes on this time last year and went with Magnum Shielding cables, brake lines in +6" length. Not the cheapest, but the cables are holding up well. Ran the wires internally with no extensions...just had to unclip the connectors in the fairing and relocate them next to the radio.
