Yes it is. I live off 985. I use it to go to work in ATL everyday, but enjoy the ride home on it more. Hoping for a few more days we can ride here before having to put her up.

Get security. What good is the 6.5" stereo if the bike's stolen?

Get it...unless it's a deal breaker on the price or payment you have to have...

It will only slow down the joy rider, but a half way decent thief will still ride off. Ive seen videos where a couple guys pull up with a pickup and enclosed trailer and just drag the bike into the trailer and are off in less the five minutes, fork locked, security system going off.
Like a previous post said, I have great insurance with only $100 dollar deductible. My agent said no discount for security systems because like I said before, if someone wants it bad enough they will know how to take it and the security system is just $400 dollars less other goodies you could have gotten for your bike.

I didn't get security on my 2010 and don't regret it. The salesman indicated that there are multiple ways to bypass the system. I'm not in the habit of leaving my bike unattended for long periods of time, but I always make sure I lock the front forks if I'm going to walk away from it. It's going to take 4 very big guys to pick that thing up and carry it off.

While I agree that if someone wants anything bad enough they will take it, that's not the common way bikes are stolen...and if you have the pager as well as the siren, you can be there in 3 min or less asking WTH is going on.

Bikes that get stolen are the ones where the owner makes it easy to do, or just flat hard to pass up... no security system and the forks unlocked... or the bike is heavily customized, making it a desirable target. The bike least likely to be taken is the one where the owner has taken precautions to protect it and Harley gives you the option of being notified as part of those precautions with the smartsiren and pager.

And since you pay extra in insurance cost to cover all of the goodies you add to your bike, why not protect it up front?
