Don't expect recent road and business info to be updated quickly. Once something changes the mapping data supplier has to survey it and make changes to their base maps prior to supplying those to HD for distribution. Its not usual for that process to take a year or two. I would hope HD supplied whatever is the latest from the map data supplier with a new model. My wifes car unit is still not correct for items changed 5-10 years ago which is totally frustrating if looking for a business or traveling anything but major highways.

If everyone who has "this issue", or "that issue" with thier bike, decides to just say oh well, then #1, your not getting what you paid for, and #2, your not holding HD accountable to deliver the product you paid for. Don't get me wrong, the Nav system works ok. The current maps are the updated ones for now, but having to pay $150 for new updates is a little ridiculous when with Garmin they are free. All I'm saying is that H-D should have stuck with Garmin even if that meant finding another company to built it's infotainment system.

I paid less than that for my new gps with lifetime updates.
The issue isn't cost. It's the fact that Harley screwed up and loaded an old revision.

Most manufacturers charge for GPS updates. It's quick easy money. This is one reason I prefer my Garmin GPS. Updates are free. I can also move the unit between my two bikes and snowmobile.

GM is the same way, It's $200 for an updated NAV Disk for my 2010 Avalanche. So your getting a bargain at $150

Well said!

Many have become complacent. Some are quick to say companies have recalls and defects. This is bullshit. Folks need to push back. If they don't, the quality of goods and services, including Harleys, will not improve.

That said, I noticed in watching the Nav some, several new roads aren't there. I was going to research it, but my buddy already had - My brand new 2014 motorcycle comes with 2012 maps and if you would like to upgrade to the latest its 150 bucks from the website. Nice play Harley. So now if I want the Infotainment center to be top notch and work like advertised, I only need to upgrade the maps to the NOW time frame for 150 bucks, bike to bike CB for 400.00 and oh yea, the headset and connection adapter so the phone works.
That update you are talking about does not exist. You will not be able to download it even if you want to. I am told HD is working on the issue

Yeah Harley is now doing what the auto industry is doing. Old maps when you purchase and charging for every update. GM = $199, Toyota = $169, and HD = $150. Then there is Garmin = $99 for a lifetime of updates.

nothing is priced the same as it was in 2012. but just for comparison sakes, a 2012 ultra with abs/security was msrp $22694. a 2014 with the same options is msrp $23,644. a total price increase over 2 years of $950. to put it further into perspective, a 2010 ultra in vivid black with abs and security was msrp $22214.00, and that was with a 96ci engine. look at the difference between the 2010 model and the 2014 model and tell me if you think its worth $1430.....
