Default Nice 2014 Infotainment has 2012 information

Got the bike out Saturday for 150 miles in the varing temps of 45-52 and had a ball on the back roads. Likeing this bike more and more as I get to ride it.

That said, I noticed in watching the Nav some, several new roads aren't there. I was going to research it, but my buddy already had - My brand new 2014 motorcycle comes with 2012 maps and if you would like to upgrade to the latest its 150 bucks from the website. Nice play Harley. So now if I want the Infotainment center to be top notch and work like advertised, I only need to upgrade the maps to the NOW time frame for 150 bucks, bike to bike CB for 400.00 and oh yea, the headset and connection adapter so the phone works.

$150 for updating a gps?
I paid less than that for my new gps with lifetime updates.

If you're sure the gps has 2 year old mapping, why don't you take it back to the dealer and request that it be updated by them, being as it is a brand new bike. See what they say..........

Man, I feel like such a dinosaur when I see posts like this! For me, its a stretch to even HAVE a stereo on a bike! And I turn it off when it comes between the bike, the road, & me! LOL

Turns out the new maps aren't actually out for use yet so the 2012 is the latest for now. But the update shows as 150.00 maybe that will change too. But I agree, I have lifetime on my Tom Tom.

I agree also, I just started listening to music and riding a couple of years ago. I was fine it seems for the 25 years prior lol. This is my 1st bike with a radio too. Just some of the bugs in it well, bug me. I paid 10,000 more than I have ever paid before.

Don't get me wrong though, I love the bike -

Well, if this is all you have to be worried about, then I would say it's a good day. Happy New Year

True dat! As long as the motorcycle portion of the entertainment system is working good, I'd say all is well!

I talked to H-D on this map problem & the fact we have to pay $150 for upgrades. I also asked why they didn't go with a Garmin engine for Nav system. They told me that first of all you can only update maps once a year. Also since system is built by Harmon Kardon they use naviextras and not Garmin. H-D should have told them you either use Garmin or we will have someone else develop our infotainment system. That would have been looking out for it's customers.

I don't know man. Seems like a lot folks on here are just happy to roll over and let HD get over on them. Not trying to sound like a hard ***, but damn.... I work hard for my money, and it sure seems to me that HD didn't keep these bikes priced at the 2012 level. So what is wrong with expecting to get what you paid for? If everyone who has "this issue", or "that issue" with thier bike, decides to just say oh well, then #1, your not getting what you paid for, and #2, your not holding HD accountable to deliver the product you paid for. I've never asked for anything free in my life. I pay my way every step of the way, but I sure as hell am going to get what I paid for. Flame on!

I don't think it's unrealistic that the bike has 2012 maps, after all it's not 2014 yet and the 2013 maps probably aren't released yet. So I think you probably got the latest available at the time since the radios probably shipped way before the bike was made. I think the other issues could have been addressed with some simple research or questions prior to the purchase.
