When I 1st got my ultra I added a stage 1 download, monster rounds and hi flow SE air filter. It was ok 1 up but struggled of the line in 1st and required too much downshifting 2 up. I don't like rowing the gear box all the time when just riding, I don't mind when playing around, but can't stand downshifting for every little incline. Now 1 up is awsome and 2 up isn't a non stop shifting session. I added SE 255 cam and power duals header plus SERT and dyno tune. Bike is an absolute pleasure to ride. I equate it to the difference between towing with a v6 and a v8. Both work just a lot less fan fair with the 8!!!
I think your gonna regret letting them talk you into what they like to install. The 204's will out perform the 255's any day of the week.
You are probably right but my riding style is more about low end torque up the hills and back roads winding the throttle to maybe 4000 rpm. I have spoke to over half a dozen Dealers. The SE255 is far the most installed and the SE259E was second. The SE 204 was on the least installed. One Dealership with dyno recommended the SE254E. I guess if I am not happy, I will put the SE204 in next winter. I will settle on the download for now and maybe dyno some other time. Can the SEPRT be smart tuned? Is this way of tuning efficient?
I think you will be happy I also chose the 255 it sounds good getting it dyno tuned now cant wait to get it back I dont ride over 4500 much if at all and if you are pulling 4500 rpm in sixth gear on a harley you would prolly like a hybusa better. Iknow its spelled wrong.

Update on the SE255 cams. I have run a tank of gas through it and I have to say. I lost 1 mpg and the low end torque has improved. I also got very slight to no decel popping. This is with a HD download to my SEPST. I am pretty happy with it with the kind of riding that we do. Mpg is probably the same since I was testing and run it a bit harder.

If your dealer did a HD download and you have a SEPST you got taken by about $150 or what ever the download costs. The maps for the SEPST come with the tuner and they put one on it to marry the SEPST to the bike. If they didn't put the map on, your tuner isn't installed. You don't need a SEPST if you are getting a download. The Stage 2 download will work with the 255 install, not as good as a map though.
