I am looking for all the hardware to make my 09 harley ultra classic have a detachable tour pak,so I need docking system ,lic plate relocated , rack and quick release harness, I know someone has one out there, so please respond and I'll make arrangements.
in terms of a "how-to", H-D sells the relocate kit which will get you going.
a couple of things:
the license plate bracket in the kit looks like a spoiler- many of us use the Road King signal bar ( and i also use a $8 pepboys stubby for antenna) some roll up the extra wiring and tuck under the seat. ( I have some different stuff going on, so made my own wiring harness to the rear of the bike)
2.) the detachable kit is best for the riders who have the tourpak on/off/on frequently.
If you only think you'll be doing the swap a couple of times a year, bolting/un-bolting takes about 30 minutes.
If you do that, you save a few bucks.
I had what you needed just sold it yesterday. You need the 4 point quick detach docking points, chrome strut covers off a street glide or FLTRX, and the detachable tour pack rack.
