Man...a thread on a push button sure has a lotta legs... when I realized I didn't like my lock, I just checked the P&A book, and the J&P catalog, went out, got it, put it in, no angst, no fuss, no muss! LOL

+1 on the Kury push button. First mod I did and no issues 25,000 K later. Whats the point of having keyless start if you have to find your key every time you want to fill up. I have my key deep in my jacket and only fish it out when locking bags.

I need to do a search I guess. Have yet to see my first thread about someone catching someone stealing their gas.

A guy from the service department at my dealership recommended I use the Harley lube on the moving parts of the mechanism. It is more prone to corrosion because it can collect moisture underneath the cap. He also recommended using it on the ignition, bag locks etc. The advantage of the Harley stuff for me is that it's pretty cheap (a little goes a long way), readily available, and the needle design allows you to put just a drop or two exactly where you want it versus trying to use a spray.
