Default A PC V question on dual maps

On the Power Comander V one of the features is "2 position map switching function built in" can anyone explain what that is. I tried calling Fuel Motto but they had left. I seem to recall a post where someone spoke of using the AUX switch to change maps. Does this sound possible?

Nice feature to use on PCV. Just load second map in map 2 position and install a switch.

I bought the aux plug that goes under the seat and connected it to the pcv, that i way i could use the aux switch on the dash to switch it between the 2 maps, one for economy other for performance, it worked great.

Isn't the auxiliary 12 volt switching. If you put 12volts on the PCV it will no longer work. I have used a switch a couple of times. If you decide on the auxiliary you will need a small relay to keep the 12 v. off the PCV. Moto has a switch made for this that you mount on the handle bars. I bought a miniture SPST switch from Radio shack. I used some 1/2" wide straping and bent it 90 degrees and mounted the switch as close to the bend as possible. I covered the straping and wires with shrink wrap and used tie wraps to mount it under the edge of the seat. Mine was mounted between the seat and the saddle bag, mostly under the seat. I also put a small mini usb cable and attached it to the PCV and had the end tucked under the seat next to the switch. Use an extension cable to attach to the computer. No need to take the seat off anymore. I put a good rich map on one position and the one I was working on on the other side. If you mess up you can switch to the tried and true map and continue your ride until you fix the map.

This was one of the best features that my PCV had, I used an old KC spotlight switch that I had left over and installed it in my mid frame fairing so I could reach down and switch between maps on the fly. Like others mentioned I had fuel moto send me a performance and a mileage tune and switched between the two.
