I have a set of ball end allens, but not for a ratchet. The ball is on the long end, hard to get things tight trying to turn the short end

The ball-end for getting the intake bolts started and snug. Then the short side to tighten. A tool is available from H-D, but I don't think it is needed.
A wrench can be put on the short end for leverage if necessary.

If he's not pulling the heads and is only removing the rocker covers to remove the rocker assemblies and then pushrods, the intake/thorottle body can stay on. I do agree though, if the intake /throttle body is coming off, ball-end Allen wrenches are a must.

As for the dog bones, I bought a the same sizes that QC already mentioned. I picked up the Stanley version from Amazon, and I think they were pretty cheap. Certainly worth the cost.

Even if they are more than you think, you'll still come out ahead compared to labor and you'll own the tools!

Also, what hear is your bike? It may be built using the older breather assemblies. Since you'll already have the rocker box covers off, it would be a great time to update to the new style breathers. They're pretty cheap and most dealers stock them. You'll need 2 assemblies, and they're about $14 each. They're supposed to be more effective at reducing oil blow-by that finds its way into the air cleaner.

Good luck - this is fun stuff!

I bought a Motion Pro Adjustable Torque Wrench Adapter from Motorcycle-Superstore when I did my cam job. The thing worked great, just make sure you get it tight on the wrench. You'll also need the cam locking tool (94076-09) for torquing the cam sprocket bolt.

Grimace - I'm not certain that you'd be affected by the breather upgrade with your Evo engine.

The Twin Cam motor breathers were updated to a new style that replaced the umbrella style gasket/seal.

The new part number is 17025-03A, and I it lists at $14.15/ea, but Kutter sells them for $11/ea.

Thanks.

I'm good. Evo breather is just the plastic umbella that sits in the rockerbox. Doesn't have all
That other junk.
