Default Pushrods through the top

I'm assembling parts for a cam swap. I'm reusing the OEM pushrods. I see that the MoCo sells a rocker box wrench. For those that have done it, is it necessary to use it? Obviously the tank will be off, but having never had it off before I don't know what kind of clearances I'll have to work with. Also, someone mentioned a dogbone torque adapter. Again, is it necessary?

What i was told is you can use a offset wrench... I was told that there was a cheaper option than that dogbone...Just buy a cheap set of wrench from harbor freight...Now i will say the nice thing about the dogbone is it makes it easy to use the torque wrenches...

They make a couple of different tools to make that job easier. Taking the tank off will definitely make it a lot easier. Personally, I have done it without having the tools, and it is a pain in the butt.

I used standard combination wrenches. Their sizes were sufficient to fit on either my 1/2" or 3/8" torque wrenches. Offset 90 degrees and you don't need to adjust torque values.

Front cylinder was easy, rear not so.

Draining the tank is the biggest PITA...I have taken mine off so many times now it's ain't nothing but a thing...Unhook the crossover line in front of the tank and plug one side while the other side is draining then i drain the other...Lift the back and Voila... i use Urine bag tubing as i sell it and it's cheap or free for me.

I didn't use the dogbones the first time I had mine apart, but I got them for the next time.

That would have been handy my crows feet wrench worked also. That tool and the crowsfeet are for torquing to specs.

I bought 3 dogbones cuz I couldn't remember: 3/8, 7/16, and 1/2. Do you have ball-end Allen wrenches?

I have done it without the dogbone. PITA. I will have a dogbone next time I do it. IMO, small investment to simplify things and ensure it is done right.
