Tail/Brake light

Tail/Brake light
Was starting the bike after charging the battery, when i turned the bike on my tail/brake came on and stayed on. I checked the foot and lever but the light never changed. It stayed on. Checked the plug everything seems fine, Any ideas out there as to the problem?

there was a recall on rear brake switches.
check your vin at the H-D site.
this may cause the rear brake to fail - so careful if you think that is it.
otherwise the front brake switch may break if the control are removed from the bars with out a shim as outlined in the manual.
