Black is always sweet looking when it is clean and unblemished. After years of black cars, trucks and bikes I decided to change after I saw the Red Hot Sunglow at the dealership outside in the sun! Dark windshield, smoked directionals, smoked fender tips and smoked brake lights make it look sharp as hell.
I always liked a shinny black harley against chrome. I feel you can never go wrong. I ordered my Street Glide special in gloss black for delivery in the begining of March. The dealer has 6 colors lined up side by side and I got to say the amber whiskey really stands out and the deep red is nice also.
I hate the Liberace blue metaflake just gaudy.
I feel a black and chrome harley is just classic and never tiring
I went with Ember Red Sunglow on my last one and it is my new favorite color.
I wasn't in the market for a new bike but when spotted it called me over and said "buy me" and who was I too argue.
Have had 3 Blue Harleys , though the last one an FLHTK is two tone Blue and Black so far my favorite. Just something about Blue always catches my eye and doesn't wear off on me .
+1 on black being harder to maintain but man after you finish detailing it man doesn't it look nice. Just did mine yesterday and had to just stand and look at it for a while.
Had a black bike for a few years and cleaned it every weekend. I ordered a new one in candy orange because sunglo red wasn't offered on the 14s. Everyone that sees it says "that's a nice looking red bike!" It definitely stand out in a crowd, which is why I went away from black in the first place.

Another Liberace reference -- that's 2 times this week. I never thought Liberace would be refenced so frequently on a Harley forum. SJ Ron
