Vincent Black Lightning! Sure, black shows dust and swirls and whatever. Who cares? Clean it when it suits ya and ride it the rest of the time!
I agree D man and went in not even considering any other color but gloss black
I do like the paint on the amber whiskey but I am wondering for how long.
No matter how old a Black harley is it still going to look cool, done right

I have always been partial to a "vivid black" bike. That being said stock color irritates me to no end. I have a 92 electra glide that is blue for now. In the process of stripping it down, going goin for a SG look. I think I'll go back with a statin black, old school white pin striping, and minimal chrome. Just my opinion you gotta put your mark on your bike. And why not do it in paint.
Back in mid October I traded my 05 Vivid Black (Gloss black) Road King on a new 2014 Street Glide Special. I ordered the SGS in Vivid Black for the same reasons that you stated about Black Bikes. I had a month lead time for my new bike to come in.... A week after ordering it I was outside at the dealers when in my opinion I saw a great looking Street Glide in this "Rich" looking Red. I said to the guy next to me "too bad the 2014's did not come in that color, I like that alot!" He told me that it was a 2014. I walked up to it and low and behold it was the "Mysterious Red Sunglo" . It looked totally different in the sun than it did on the showroom floor under fluorescent lighting , it just popped in the sun! Hence the name I guess Mysterious Red Sunglo.....
I changed my order paid a few bucks more for that color and today in my garage waiting for Spring is my Mysterious Red Sunglo SGS! My wife summed it up when she saw it and said she thought it looked great and that it would not show streaks or look dirty like my Black Road King always seemed to do even with all the washing and polishing time put it. She is right, I guess I just did not want to admit it but Black bikes make even minor scratches, streaks and swirls look worse than they are..Plus I would rather be riding than cleaning and polishing....
Again just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions...

I didn't get black because everyone has black. My favorite part is when guys come and say they don't like the color of my bike and then I ask their lady and then they state that they like the color.
I have always liked the look of black and chrome. That being said I did not want a black bike for all the reasons already stated (maintenance, everybody has one etc.). I saw the Blackened Cayenne Sunglow and that was all it took. It looked good in the showroom, they rolled it outside and it looked great in the sun. That was all it took, I didn't need to look at anything else, I was done looking. SOLD
