denim black for my 13 street glide. I dont like shiny and everyone has a shiney black harley. yeah the denim is hard to keep clean but i didnt buy it to look at and wash. heck i dont even have to polish it. im out riding even sooner!
All my used HD's were bought , taken down for a rebuild and all painted Vivd Black. Bought the 11 SG in vivid black. Last 3 jeeps and current jeep are gloss black. It's just what I like.
That being said, my friend has a 2 tone Deluxe in tan and metallic root beer. Man, if I ever changed the color of my SG, I'd paint the whole bike in that Metallic Root Beer, that color just does it for me when it is popping in the sun.
I have always liked the look of black and chrome. That being said I did not want a black bike for all the reasons already stated (maintenance, everybody has one etc.). I saw the Blackened Cayenne Sunglow and that was all it took. It looked good in the showroom, they rolled it outside and it looked great in the sun. That was all it took, I didn't need to look at anything else, I was done looking. SOLD

I suspect the Blackened Cayenne Sunglo is similar to the 2011 Merlot Sunglo ... it's black, but it's not. I have yet to see one in person to compare to my Merlot.
Ultimately OP, forget about everyones opinion and get your SG in the color YOU want. You are the one that will be riding it.
For years I put up with whatever color the bike came in.But my Harleys all two of them have been black.I had a denim black Street Bob for awhile changed the tins over to vivid black.I wish my ultra was more black I could live without the pinstripes. The only other color I like is the charcoal but that's only because it's like light black.
