I realize it's sacrilege, but I think black is boring. I don't want my bike to look like 90% of the others out there and would never buy a black one. I realize my purple is the opposite extreme--alot of people would never own a purple one. (It's my favorite color. I've had two purple Harleys. Before you homophobes start with the gay comments, I can tell you my bike is a chick magnet.) My next one I will look at some of the great blues or reds that the MoCo has been coming out with. But definitely not black.
Had a black bike for a few years and cleaned it every weekend. I ordered a new one in candy orange because sunglo red wasn't offered on the 14s. Everyone that sees it says "that's a nice looking red bike!" It definitely stand out in a crowd, which is why I went away from black in the first place.
I like my 2014 Candy Orange Ultra Classic and have had many compliments on the color from others when out riding.
My first Harley was Vivid black and I loved it but since then I have gone for other colours.
I let my daughters pick the colour of my my 14 Street Glide and they opted for the Daytona Blue Pearl and have no regrets.
We don't have the SGS in UK so are more limited to colours. I traded in a Heritage Crimson Red / Red Hot Sunglo and really loved that colour but the Mysterious Red is not availavable in UK so blue it is.

I can spot you Brits straight away. You spell colors wrong.
Have had black vehicles and bikes for years and tired of the constant upkeep. So now both vehicles and the bike are no longer black... Love Black still but needed a change.
Why is it always about color with you people? Oh, and you either have a Vivid black Harley or wish you did! Just like the Victory guys are always saying "I bought a Victory because everyone has a Harley!"
If you can't handle the vivid black then stick with the rainbow!
