Hi there, Im new to Harleys and really loved my new purchase until last night. Moving bike into shed I slipped and bike started to fall. As I grabbed the bars they moved. I have managed to strip the front but cannot find any information anywhere on how to remove my ignition. Unlike the later ones my key turns to the selected option not the housing. Attached is photo of my ignition. Am meant to be going on a tour in a couple of days but if I cant fix bars I wont make it.
Thank you in advance
I've heard that you may be able to put the front wheel up against something that won't move and yank the bars back to center. They are supported by rubber or plastic bushings that have a little give.

The same as my 1999 Road Glide, I asked the same question at the local HD shop, and they said I would need to prise off the black part/plate as it's stuck on. There's no mention of how to remove it in the 99 Harley manual
From your picture Harley lists that an international switch.
Remove the black decal (discard) Pull the four aluminum tamper proof plugs with a stud extractor or Easy out. If necessary carefully drill out plugs using a 3/8" or 9.5mm bit. exercise caution to avoid damaging hex in the button head allen screws.
Remove the four button head allen screws from the ****, remove the ****.
This came from a 1997 FLH service manual.
Hope that helps.
Man, I wish I could remember how I took mine off. Seems it had to be in the acc position, then, I went under the cover and pressed on something, and it popped right off.
