Default pipe blocks acces for str8 ,and two questions help.

i wentinto a group buy of the str8 thing ,and the next day after i mailed in the check,i discovered that because of the large, longish bracket that mounts the rb black hole 2 into 1 exhaust ,i will not be able to mount the str8.

( i did my research on the str8 before i got the black hole pipe and did not look to the mounting until after i ordered it . my mistake and of course i will accept the part if shipped ..
i asked the builder to reconsider and not ship mine ,but have not had a reply ,so, i prepare for the worse and thus i wonder if any here can help as follows ........

my questions are......... 1)----...has anyone faced this problem before (the mounting with a black hole )? and what ??
from what i can see ,even if i remove the bracket to mount the str8, i will not be able to then mount the pipe since it blocks all the area .both of these at the same time cannot go, as i see it .

any ideas ??

2)--------- also, from what i can see ,the str8 mounts to the engine underneath and then it attaches to the frame thru the rear footpeg by doing their own footpeg adaptation and removing the oe one.

when i spoke to the hd guys in daytonA they told me that they created a 30 cm perimeter around the engine free of any contact with the frame other than where the rubber mounts are, thus assuring that there is no contact point with the frame ,in order to eliminate vibrations .....

thus, the str8 in fact violates this principle .

my question............has anyone with this str8 or even the true track system noticed any new vibrations ??

any and all ideas are apreciated ..

I've had the Ride Str8 on for around 5000 miles and love it....I haven't noticed any extra vibration....I'm not following your mounting problem.....loosen the exhaust headers a little and you can access the bottom footboard bolt for an easy exchange

HD dealers are always negative about aftermarket add-ons like this....don't believe it....this is one of the best modifications that I've made to my bike

kdietz

no ,the problem is that the blck hole mounting bracket is massive and sits where the str8 goes ,thus blocking it.

it has nothing to do with removing it and the installing the str8 and then re mounting the black hole.
