Can only suggest that you test ride.

all the touring models are essentially the same, the only differences is the amount of plastic hanging on them and the stereo...and some models have 12" shocks, others have 13's
chassis, drivetrain etc are all shared

on paper and in science the frame mounted sharknose fairing is superior.
but I prefer the batwing...illogical.

the mounting for the fairing or windscreen, gives different dynamics when subjected to wind gusts

I really like the fixed fairing '09 -'13 are very close but there are no '14s. Hope they come back with a vrod motor in the '15 Roadglide!!!

Lots of good info above. The only thing I will add, is that all the touring bikes are basically the same - same motor, same tranny, same frame, same bags (except RK Classic and Ultra having a tourpak).

The biggest difference is the front end - removable windshield on RK & RK Classic, shark-nose fairing on Road Glide, and batwing fairing on Street Glide and Ultra. Those bikes with fairings have different gauges and radios (vs. RK). Other than that, pretty much the same bikes, so test ride a few and you decide what is best for you.
