Tossed mine and never looked back. If your insured what does it matter? If your worried about falling down and getting hurt then you should stick to driving a car.

Been down half a handful of times over the years, one pretty serious, out of those only once did a bike ever land on my leg. Pipes and handle bars usually have enough room to drag your leg out from underneath.. Crash bars are fugly..

You never worry about dropping your bike until it's sitting on it's side. Then it's too late.... Plus I LOVE MY HIGHWAY PEGS!!!!!!

I always find this subject entertaining because it brings out those who on one hand say customize your bike to make it your own, but then say "oh I wouldn't do that!. Then there are the sanctimonious replies that infer the absurdity of considering not following their advise.

A lot subjects pull on folks emotions, but this one for some reason really gets under their skin. They have little problem with riders spending thousands to replace wheels, seats, custom paint, add hp and add tons of chrome. But take off that $150.00 crash bar on you have crossed a line.

It's your bike, do with it what you like to make it more personal, but could you check with me first.

I've gotten off of mine and walked away from it after an all day ride and forgot to put the kickstand down. It was the only thing that saved major damage on the bike.
It just layed over on the crash bar and didnt hurt anything.

I also do use it for the pegs.

Do what you want...but I like mine off. Much cleaner look as far as I'm concerned. If it falls over...I'll get it fixed.

I have no problem with your choice, but I am curious why you added saddle by guards?

Take em off, it's your bike!

I saw a road king that had the front and rear crash guards as well as the aux lights removed and no windshield. It looked a lot smaller than bikes with them. I liked it but it isn't the route I'm taking with my bike.

Only 48 days until spring!
