Agreed. That really put things into perspective. If anybody knows of an updated test, let us know...

I finally got a good amount of seat time at night with the HD Reflector LED and I can honestly say the the light is great. It spreads a nice white light across a four lane road with no problem and thats without Aux lights. Once properly adjusted, I'd say 98% of the time it puts the light exactly where you need it. The light also has great diffusion, so there's no real hot-spot.
Like mentioned before, TIGHT 90ş turns on dark switch backs was the only issue I found. The flat plane of light that's projected can cause the light to dip for a second until you've straighten out. If the curve is not real tight, no problem, the light will lead exactly where you want it. I could see great running low beam only, but I do like the punch the high beam sends down the center.
I consider the light a major safety upgrade for daylight riding as well, because the bright white light really stands out during the day. Even on low beam the light can easily be seen from an angle during the day. I usually run the high beam during the day to maximize visibility as long as it's bright out. Overall MUCH better night/day visibility, no problem being viewed from an angle and it fits and looks better than the TL IMO, so I'm pleased.

That would be a nice comparison...As far as a pricing comparison:
TL Phase 7s headlight and auxiliary lights combo cost me $332 from Discount Fleet Supply.
HD Daymaker Reflector combo cost $626 and,
HD Daymaker Projector combo cost $738 from Kutter HD online.
