I finally upgraded to my dream bike last summer which is a 2013 SG
First bike I ever owned with a radio, sounded great at first...ha...now I want to upgrade already and have beat myself looking and searching for a new system,
Made up my mind on the biketronics 2180 amp and 7.1 speakers with the sony HU, I want to do this only one thime and be happy, I want to rock out loud and clear......any suggestions...anybody have this system installed on there bike?
I have the hawg wired zx 6.5 And I run a clock works 6 inch flare windshield. I didn't get an amp and should have. At 60 and under it rocks OK but beyond that the wind.gets to be too loud to really hear the stereo unless its turned up all the way.
Do it once and be happy? Yeah, right. Next thing you know you'll be thinking about lid speakers, or maybe some lower fairings with speakers in them. Or maybe both.
im happy with the stock HK head unit but im running boom audio in the fairing and just added a 4 channel hog tunes amp and ht saddle bag speaker kit. sounds amazing. adding an amp and good speakers will make a difference itself as the music will be clearer and not distorted. im also running a hdpd2 ipod controller as I usually listen to the ipod most of the time.
Lol, it's a sickness. Look up forum member UltraNutz, he's the go to guy here in the Audio forum. Very knowledgeable about component specifics, a master installer and an all around nice guy. He has hands on experience and knows what he's talking about. Plus he's tried a lot of different stuff out already on his personal ride.
Almost fell out of my chair laughing.
Started with a sony hu, biketronics 7.1's and a PBR 300x2 and am now working on new bag lids with 6x9's and another 300x2. Probably will never end.
Disney Dave you 100% correct it will NEVER end. It's a illness and I have it! Also be careful it's contagious. Ultranutz is a incredibly knowledgeable guy but he will cost you money cause he has some great ideas!!!! Also look up glacier pearl, there are a few guys in the audio section that have incredible stereos. I love/hates hat section, it always cost me money!
