New problem with the 6.5" audio system..
First off, let me say how I detest the term "Infotainment" and refuse to use it. It's an audio system with GPS. So far, my GPS has worked perfectly for what I want from it, just to find me when I get lost.
BUT....the audio part has been a PIA. Now, just since the other day, when my phone loses signal during playback of streaming music the system displays "playback stopped" and drops the Bluetooth signal. My phone is displayed but will not connect to the unit. When I go to devices paired, my phone is no longer there. The only way I have found to fix it is to unpair on my phone and pair to the unit again. I just can't figure out why?? It started this all on it's own and out of the blue. eta: It's an Android phone and has been flawless so far.
I know I know, I'll get all sorts of crap about listening to music while I ride. And I do sometimes. I'm just one of those that expect everything to work properly. Although I don't smoke I expect the cig lighter to work.
I hear what you are saying, and that is why I am not going to pair my phone to the Bike.
If I am riding I am not going to answer my phone in the first place. It is not that important
to me at that time. It is more important that I concentrate on riding, I will get back to whom
ever has called me.
Reboot your phone regularly. The problem with bluetooth is no set protocol, i work in automotive and everything has bluetooth quirks. Constant updates to fix things and sometimes a phone is not compatible. The phone carriers release over the updates and change things with out everyone knowing. I don't think i have ever had actual bluetooth hardware bad, always a software fix. Mike
My new limited is shipped and will be here soon.
However, I will pair my phone because of the music which is on the phone.
I fully agree with d-streetglidr, even I Don't need all options, I paid for and they have to work. No excuse.

Btw, your sign is great, I love it.
I've been trying to pair my Galaxy S4 all week to my SGS, but keep getting error messages. I got a cheap 16gb thumb drive and dropped a couple hundred songs on it, and it works great. The album covers even pop up on the screen.
Rmc115 has it right, it isn't just a Harley quirk with the phone not staying connected Bluetooth. I have a '14 jeep grand cherokee that does the same thing. All I do is turn off the phone, wait a minute, restart it then can connect, as the battery power level drops it is more likely to dropping the connection. My wife's ford taurus does a much better job of staying connected, but will still drop the phone now and then. Not sure where the problem really is, in the phone or these new style of radios.
